Wolfenden is an independent UK manufacturer of high quality, cost effective precast concrete products specifically developed to meet the needs of dairy farmers. Established over 40 years, it has become a design-led specialist of Agricultural solutions that services the demand in this multi-million pound Hi-Tech (initially Diary sector projects) market that is strongly emerging.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


THE CHALLENGE

The sector has suffered greatly over many years through under investment by farmers in innovative products. But the changing nature of Hi-Tech Diary farming together with increased herd sizes and animal welfare concerns have spawned new opportunities that could be profitably exploited.

 

 

 


 

THE SOLUTION

We undertook a detailed review of both Wolfenden’s potential market and its current operations. We helped to identify the likely impact of their new SUPA range together with the investment required to automate some production and expand storage capacity for the business. The company was able to set on a path to expand turnover 15-fold with greater profitability. A detailed financial plan followed that provided the basis to unlock investment requirements and served as a working budget for the business.

 

 

 


 

OUR ACHIEVEMENTS

During our association, we were able to identify product ranges to be eliminated, focus the strategy on the higher gross profit products with improved margins and show how the business could successfully attract external funding to support company expansion into its current and new markets.
